Forest Sonata is a nice documentary about natural ecosystem. It takes China Central Television (TTCV) four years to complete. And it covers most of China’s major forests and nature preservation zones, for instance, the vast forests in Northeast China, Qinnling, the Taklamakan Desert, the southeastern forests in Tibet, Shennongjia in Hubei Province, Hengduan Mountains, the tropic forests in Hainan Province and red forests in South China Sea area. The documentary not only features such trees as red birches, diversiform-leaved poplars, Chinese silver firs, ginkgos and seed bearer trees, but also presents some of China’s unique animal species, such as panda, golden monkey, takin, red ibis, northeast tiger and gibbon. The people who live in the forests, and their lifestyle and cultures also constitute a part of this documentary.
The documentary is vivid, true-to-life and romantic and its contents are exciting and fantastic. Forest Sonata tries to give audience all over the world a better understanding of China’s natural ecology.
