The documentary TV show Tibet Diary is co-produced by CICC and D3 Productions Inc and aired on PBS in 2005. Tibet Diary was awarded the award of Distinction in Cinematography of the American Videographer Awards and the Documentary Gold Award of US Aurora Awards 2004.
The show recorded in a video diary format the real traveling experiences in Tibet of two Americans who has never been to China before.
In September 2003, two American travelers, Katy and Moge started their first journey to Tibet, China. Armed with cameras and a good sense of humor, Katy and Moge braved bumpy roads and oxygen-deprivation to visit several of Tibet’s most breathtaking monasteries, temples, and palaces. Along the way, they encountered a cast of colorful characters, from playful Buddhist monks and folk dancers to friendly village locals.
For these two travelers, each day shed new light on Tibetan society and its culture in a way that challenged their previous assumptions and forced them to form new perspectives along their journey. The camera crew apart from recording the couple’s day to day experiences, at the end of everyday also recorded Katy and Moge as they shared their own feelings about the day in front of the camera.
This documentaries content is real and uniquely structured; it is an unconventional documentary about Tibet that will leave the viewer with new and insightful perspectives regarding this mysterious and breathtaking part of the world.
