The game of football originated from China. It is now a much loved and fashionable sport all around the world.

Back in the Song Dynasty, Zhao Ji, the Emperor Song Huizong, was very fond of football. One of the ministers, Gao Qiu, was awarded the high post with his skills in football playing. Gao, however, put his own interests above the country. He killed the loyal and honest officials, and manipulated the outcomes of football games.

Then Jins in the north expanded their territories rapidly and had dispatched troops to invade the Songs. They proposed deciding the country’s fate over a game of football. The nation’s survival should have been determined by a team of quality players. To the contrary, Gao ignored the nation’s interest and dignity by sending assassins to pursue the skillful football players Hong Feng, Xiang Liuyun and others. Fortunately, Hong and Xiang have mastered many outstanding maneuvers such as “The Crescent Kick”, “Paired Charge” and “Xiang’s Invincible Third” during their trainings from “Taihelou” to “Qiyushe”. They escaped from the assassins, and with support from their friends SUO Yuer, Jin Baobei and Shishi, Hong and Xiang boldly faced the Jins at the football field.

故事发生在北宋末期，自小没了父亲，但性格乐天的主角洪风因一次的好勇斗狠而结识了另一主角－－冷傲孤僻的向流云，二人从此成为了蹴鞠好友，在球场上共同进退。面对江湖恩怨，他们抱打不平却被逼下狱。而少年人的不屈权贵，更使向流云被打断了脚。奸相高俅逼其卖国求荣，两少年不堪忍辱，只好远走他乡。在这些艰难的波折汇总，二人坚持永不放弃的精神，使他们熬过了一重重的难关，苦练蹴鞠绝技，在国家存亡的生死关头挺身而出，把一场亡国的战争化解于蹴鞠比赛之中。
